Ignácz Judit
Fine art painter
Introduction
Sixteen years ago, I started working at a foundation in Budapest. As a caregiver, I support people with intellectual disabilities in their daily lives. This work demands a great deal of patience, attention, and love, and it gives back just as much.
Painting found me a few years ago. I was looking at paintings when I suddenly had the feeling: perhaps I could paint these too. It was like an angelic inspiration. That is how my first exhibition got its title.
I started learning online, reading, watching videos, getting to know painting in theory first, then gradually trying it out in practice. I began developing as a self-taught artist.
I also enrolled in courses at Zsilip Art and attended a few sessions, but after the birth of my grandchild, a longer break followed.
About two years ago, I discovered the teaching of SMV 2000 Festőtanoda, where painter Veronika Simon M. teaches. A good relationship developed between us, and I am still her student today. Most of the paintings in this exhibition were created under her guidance.
My paintings include landscapes, still lifes, portraits, floral works, and figure studies, in a variety of techniques. Occasionally I also paint works by well-known artists. For me, these are not copies but learning processes, through them I come to understand colours and forms, while adding a little of my own vision.
Three of my paintings have already been donated, to institutions and to a private individual. I would like to continue doing this in the future.
I am searching for my own style. I have ideas and dreams. I would like to travel, to see the world, and to paint the places I visit the way I see them. I would also like to create modern religious paintings and donate them to churches and sacred places.
I am no longer in the young chapter of my life. More and more often, I think of a sentence my father used to say. Whenever we had new plans, after he turned fifty he would often say: "If only I were ten years younger."
I find myself feeling the same way now.
But I believe there is still time. Time to explore art, and painting in particular, more deeply, and to create many more beautiful works.
And if these paintings bring joy to someone, whether they take one home, or simply pause to look at it at the exhibition, then it was all worth it.
